For this project we were assigned to make a logo of our choosing. I chose to create a logo showcasing ancient weapons (specifically swords) from both different time periods and different civilizations. I chose ancient Greece, Japan, England, African and Chinese swords and put the Chinese swords in the center of it all as the focus point.
For the entire design I decided to place the Chinese swords in the middle so that way they were the main focus of the design. I put the other swords around the Chinese swords to show other ancient swords of different civilizations.
The color scheme was originally going to be blue, black and white. However, once I started working in Illustrator I could not find the right blue that I was looking for, so I experimented and decided red would work best. I chose black and white to have contrast and give it a Yin/Yang feel to the design.
The Target Audience
The target audience would consist of men and women who are interested in ancient weaponry, specifically swords. Now their interest in ancient swords can vary from not very interested to nearly obsessed. Swords are swords and the diversity will attract more people than if there was just one.
The design is meant to attract the audience by being simple but still having the ability to share the message. There are only three color involved but you can still see that there is diversity. For those interested in only Japanese weapons we have that. For those interested in all kinds of weapons, we have that too.
